2nd & 3rd class investigated friction.
2nd & 3rd class discussed forces - push & pull and went on to talk about what might slow down something that's moving, and why things move better over some surfaces. They discovered, this is friction. They looked at various materials such as mats, pieces of carpet, a towel, both sides of an exercise mat and a scarf. They talked about the surface, comparing which was smoother/rougher and predicted which of two would allow a toy tractor to move better. They then tested their two materials.
