Senior Infants - Measures

16 December 2020 | Discover Primary Science

Senior Infants love when we get to do measures in class!

During the year Senior Infants have been looking at measures. When they returned to school in September they marked their heights on a height chart. Now, months later they have marked their heights again and have all grown so much!

They spent time measuring the length of different things in our classroom. Before measuring they took their time to make their estimate. They then measured different objects and compared their answers to their estimates! They used cubes, lollipop sticks, matchsticks and pencils as non standard units of measure.

They had lots of fun estimating the weight of different objects in our classroom. They used cubes, crayons and marbles as non standard units of measure. They couldn't believe it when it took 22 marbles to balance a banana!
