Parents Association Latest News

20/12/2023

The Parents Association would like to thank all the parents of the school for their generous support of our fundraising efforts in the first semester of the 2023/2024 school year.

On 23rd November, the Parents Association held a Family Table Quiz. It was a great night with 33 teams battling it out for the honours. In a closely fought battle only one point separated the top 3 teams.

The Curious Cussens (the Cussen family) emerged victorious with 37 points, in 2nd place were the Quiz Starz (the O'Dea family) with 36 points and in 3rd place were the Mighty Mc's (the McCoy family) with 35 points.

We would like to express our thanks to David Reidy as Quizmaster, Catherine Hynes as corrector and to Ger Sexton and the school for their help and support for our event.

Our first prize of €200 was sponsored by Kilmallock Credit Union.

While the results were being calculated we held a raffle with prizes kindly donated by Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Bulgaden Castle, Supervalu, Fogarty’s Chemist, Smyths Toys, Unique Hair Salon and the O'Brien family.

We also had a prize for the Best Team Name, selected by David Reidy and Catherine Hynes; the winners were The Brureegans (the O'Regan family).

In December, we produced a school calendar featuring the children of the school in their birthday month. The photos for each month were greatly enhanced by the creative artwork of the children organised by Anna O'Dea. Our sincere thanks to Anna for her incredible hard work and creativity, and our thanks to the school for their support.

The calendar went on sale through the school with all costs covered by the sponsorship received from the following businesses; Abbey Printing, Adiuvo, Brian Geary Cars, Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Geary's Bar, JB Beechinor Group, Kilmallock Credit Union, Maurice Power Solicitors, Ryan's Supervalu, Unique Hair and Beauty, Zanwood Kitchens

Our thanks to all the sponsors of our school calendar and to all the parents for supporting our fundraising.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
