Day 1 of Science Week - For the past few years, 3rd class have had the opportunity to visit Mary Immaculate College in Limerick for Science Week workshops. However, this year, due to Covid19, the workshops had to be virtual.
This did not take from the fun or the learning however, and 3rd class pupils were delighted with their “Bouncing Bubbles Investigation” virtual workshop that they did on Monday afternoon.
This workshop was presented by “Scientific Sue” from www.Science2Life.com. Pupils observed a variety of experiments using bubbles, from tiny foam-like to bubbles to giant size ones. They learned about the different types of bubbles made from gases such as Carbon Dioxide and Helium.
Throughout the presentation volunteers were sought to try out the various activities that were demonstrated. The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
