The school is very well served at present with 18 IPads and 10 laptops available to use in our classrooms. Teachers in the school spent time last year developing a Digital Learning Plan. Our plan placed the focus on pupils creating their own digital content using our IPads and laptops.
The school uses the GSuite for Education apps with our middle and senior classes. These apps, which include Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, allows our pupils to create documents, presentations and spreadsheets and share them automatically with their teacher. Pupils can also collaborate on these documents. This year, pupils have created presentations on countries involved in the Rugby World Cup, 16th and 17th century Irish history, our school garden as well as publishing their own writing pieces based on the recount genre,
Some classes also use Google Classroom as a means of setting digital assignments and distributing links for projects and presentations. Teachers can also set homework using the Google Classroom app.
