Engineer's Week 3rd class 2022

25 February 2022 | Engineering

Pupils in 3rd class tried a few engineering challenges throughout Engineer's Week 2022

Pupils in 3rd class began Engineer's week by constructing a pinwheel. They used card and a template from the Steps Engineer's Website. They attached the pinwheel to a straw using a split-pin.

The second activity was a 25 minute challenge to construct a bridge using only newspaper and tape that would hold up their Busy At Maths book! This was great fun and the children showed great inventiveness and creativity during the challenge.

Their 3rd activity was to test 'helicopters'. They used a template from the Discover Primary Science and Maths Awards website and made the helicopter from paper and card and compared the two.
