Junior Entrepreneur 2023/2024

11 March 2024

Mr. Reidy's room showcased their business ideas recently at our Junior Entrepreneur Showcase Day.

Our 5th/6th classroom took part in the Junior Entreprenuer Programme this year. Under the direction of their teacher, Mr Reidy, the pupils were organised into six groups. Each group had to come up with their own business idea, before completing some market research around the school with our pupils. The groups then developed and streamlined their ideas for a number of weeks. We were very lucky to have a very special visitor, William O'Donoghue of FemFuelz and the Limerick Senior Hurling team come to our school. William spoke to the pupils about his experience of setting up a very successful family business.

The pupils then developed a presentation about their business idea using Google Slides. On the 23rd February they presented their ideas to three "Dragons" in a the style of the "Dragons Den" TV Show. All the presentations and ideas were excellent. The groups presented business ideas on wicked wristbands, supreme smoothies, colourful rocks, pencil paradise, klass keyrings and page perfect.

After much deliberations by the Dragons, Supreme Smoothies were declared the winners. Their idea on healthy and good value smoothies was very well received. We are looking forward to tasting their smoothies properly during Active Week 2024.

Well done to all the groups and to Mr. Reidy for organising Junior Entrepreneur Programme.
