Space Week in 3rd Class

12 October 2023

3rd class were learning about air-pressure and made rockets!

Our third class created an air-powered straw rocket for Space Week, demonstrating the
concept of air pressure and how it can be used to propel objects. Firstly, we began by cutting
a rectangular piece of paper, rolling it around a pencil to form the rocket's body, and we then
secured it with tape. We then removed the pencil and added a pointed nose cone and two fins.
We placed a straw through the rocket, and then we blew into the straw, launching the rocket
into the air. Finally, we tested the rocket's distance and accuracy out in the yard.
